they may not necessarily be coming directly from the kitchen. go on a hunt and find ANYTHING that is not solid and/or hard, such as moist towels, trash, look everywhere.
As long as gnats have a moist source, once you get them they stay. I found that was to get rid of usually takes a day or so, is remove anything that can hold moisture. Like the sponge or rag to wash the counters and/or dishes. Remove all sources of water and food completely. Close toilet lids, washer lid, do you have house plants? Make sure the reservoirs are not holding water., etc. Along these lines and you should get rid of them.
If this doesn't work, go get some Raid for houseflys and start spraying being sure to take precautions to cover all food and food utensils. good luck.

I've gotten those if I have fresh fruit sitting out. To get rid of them, take a jar or bottle and put the following in it:
2 cups of water
2 Tablespoons of sugar
2 Tablespoons of white vinegar
a couple drops of liquid dishsoap
Take a sheet of paper and make a funnel out of it and insert it into the mouth of the jar or bottle. Set that out where the gnats are and wait a few days. Leave it there as long as necessary to get rid of them.

Try scrubbing your garbage can out with bleach or lysol. When I see gnats in my kitchen, that's usually the culprit. Also, give the kitchen floor a good scrubbing: If you work in your kitchen, I don't care if your name's Betty Crocker, things will get spilled. And sometimes that attracts pests.
Good luck!

Do you mean "gnats?" I once saw a salad bar that had small cups of cooking oil placed on it . The bugs land in the oil and they don't get out. It seemed to work...

Take out the trash, wash the counters, get all your dishes clean and out of the sink, clean out the fridge. I have never seen 'em where there wasn't something available for them to eat... Do you have recyling bins or empty cans?

Make sure your garbage is covered (and removed from living spaces if possible). Check your window screens to make sure they're not coming in fresh. If you've cleaned and sealed everything, they should go away in a few days.
