I've always loved Y5/Y6, just before the transition to secondary school. These pupils largely still have the creative brilliance of childhood and their respect for a fair & good teacher. For me the confident 'big fish' in the Primary pond take some beating. Best regards.

Wherever you like it the best. There's teaching for all ages, administration, Special Education, multiple subject teaching, single subject teaching. I have worked as an Aide for ages pre-school to high school and special education. I like working with high school age the best. I will work with any age but I like and relate the best with the high school age group and like to be working in the classroom with the kids (not cooped up in an office).

For me, it has to be secondary education. Its tough, challenging and really hard work. But, if you have a rapport with the kids, there's loads and loads of job satisfaction to be had. Not only in teaching them and watch them as they work their way over 5 years towards their GCSE's. But you also become their second mum, social worker, agony aunt, friend ...................... Enough said I think!

Teach what you love. If you show that you care for your subject and inspire the desire to learn in your students then you will be a good teacher.
