modern/conventional science didn't know it was there until the late 1800s- the dogons knew it was there in the 2nd century B.C. and called it "po tolo" (keep in mind: this particular star is not only invisible to the naked eye, it's invisible to all conventional instruments that pre date the 1950s)

yes the dogon people know that there is planetery system in sirius the brightest star in our sky. because they had contanted with the extra terristrials may be from sirius system. they also know about the rotation peroid of sirius and many more things that scientists found yet. hey friend that is amazing these are also the signs of them.

Most likely they did not know about it. Someone has just convinced themself and possibly others that they did. Perhaps they observed some strange motion in this star system and gave it a name, but to say they knew about a dark star would be a stretch.

There are stories that they were "told" of it by "strange visitors".
