I currently have a Dell that I've had for a little over a year and it is already crapping out on me. I am looking for a PC that I can buy and upgrade when need be, that will last for a good amount of time. Thanks!

Try building your own. If you're not technical enough for that, you can often pay someone at a computer repair shop to build one for you. It will still save you money. You will be able to upgrade as needed. Make sure you get a motherboard with the Nforce 4 North Bridge and PCI Express x16 for maximum upgradability. The new AMD64 processors are awesome.

If you are unable to find a way to build you own. You're best off with an Alienware computer or one of the Dell XPS (you will pay out the *** for either one of them).

We love our Dell computers and would never get any other kind. Hardly ever have to call service, but they're always ready to help. Maybe all you have to do is get rid of some of the garbage you've downloaded that's wreaking havoc on your machine. Don't be so ready to blame the other guy.

I build custom gamming computers for people, I would have to have a little bit more information like your price range and what you are going to be using it for. I would say build a custom one but that is probably out of the option. One of the better computers that I have come across with is the dell xps 400 not a bad price and simular to dells higher end computers.....if u want some more advice you can feel free to hit me up I would be happy to help.

Dell, HP, Gateway.

I've owned them all and they are all good. Find the best price between them and buy that one.

I've even built my own, however buying all the parts and getting it together is usually not economical. These companies deal in such large volume and they get thier parts at a bulk rate price and they can sell you one cheaper than you can build one yourself.

HP had two of them wouldn't buy anything but unless forced to. Got to hp.com and buy one from there. Buy a computer that doesn't have everything on board that way it is upgradable and if something breaks it can be replaced easy.

Anything with the following specs is pretty good:

3.0Ghz Processor (Pentium 4)
At least 500MB DDR Ram
ATI Radeon 9800 Graphics card (Only for gamers and videos)
17" flatscreen moniter
Windows XP office

This machine would costs about $750 from a store and about $500 custom made from parts at most local electronic stores.

Build your own or have someone build it for you. It'll save you a ton of money and it'll last for years without upgrades.

Whatever you do though, DO NOT buy Acer, Compaq, HP or Alienware

progression one to the specification that you want is continuously going to be more cost-effective than procuring one to a similar popular. that's providing that you've the mandatory expertise to construct it contained in the first position. if you're no longer helpful sufficient to construct it then you fairly could have one outfitted for you, it is going to likely be particularly extra severe priced yet no longer too a lot. custom builds are also extra attainable to improve, commonly, than prebuilt ones too! I at the moment plan on progression a DX10 able gadget for under £2 hundred (that is conceivable in accordance to a piece of writing in this months computing gadget format!)
