We have been married almost 6 years and didn't do anything real memorable for our first 5 anniversaries. Any suggestions? Oh, and we are not rich so some creativity might be needed. Any help would be appreciated.

Given the marriage and relatioship horror stories we've all read on Yahoo Answers, you should both be commended for lasting 6 years and still being loyal and in love. That in itself is an achievement. As for what to do, I don't think that the celebration of being in love with the right person needs to be expensive, lavish, or particularly complicated. Maybe revisiting a local place that holds fond memories and bringing along a picnic lunch...or considering something from the past, or something that brought you together in the first place, and making it a center piece of conversation over an inexpensive lunch or dinner at a place you've never been to, something quirky perhaps. For my and my wife, we sometimes on a special occasion like an impromptu departure from the house at 7 or so in the morning and head for the beach, picking up fresh sourdough and the fixings on the way, and sit out there and have breakfast as the sun comes up.

bk, neither are we but if a hotel room is not to expensive then its a must. do not go home, passion is so much hotter in a hotel. and if he doesnt know it, you could go to walmart and buy those helium contaners and fill up a bunch of balloons put the strings on themhanging about 3 feet from the floor and do the whole ceiling like this its an awsome effect. just to suprise him. make sure though that noone drinks alchahol days prior to this night becuase alchahol works contrary to the sexual organs and will put a damper on the night. and thats not going to add alot of flair pizazz, excitment, or passion....... congrat to you and him for making 6 years and for actually caring about the marriage enough to want to do somthing to celebrate as it is becoming few and further between people of your calibur.

Mountain Magnolia Inn in North Carolina. Right in the middle of a small, quaint town. Bed and Breakfast Inn, and it is very romantic. Close to the Biltmore Estates. My wife and I did that for our 1st Anniversary, and we loved it.
