Most would probably fight, just like anyone else who supports the principles this country was founded upon.
Or if you want to be stereotypical, the academics would support those who were doing the actual fighting, by providing medical services and logistical support. And the media would keep communications going. And so on, based on what they were actually capable of doing.
Remember that it's the liberals who are so adamant about "securing the blessings of liberty". It's certain members of the conservative wing who want to maintain "domestic tranquility" at any cost.

They would probably fight for independence of their country like most good Americans would, but I think many conservatives would be too scared of speaking out against the government or getting hurt like they usually are to do anything useful. There would probably be way more Republican sympathizers than any other, they probably wouldn't think twice to tear down the American flag and replace it with the enemy's, all you would have to do is entice them with lower taxes or something, they would rat out every freedom fighter in the state and say it was for the good of the country, ***** traitors.

I would get out my guns and fight the foreign invaders. Yes , I'm a gun owning life long Democratic Liberal. And my Ideal of gun control is being able to hit what you are shooting at. Which I can do rather well.

You are foolish to equate liberals with being anti-war. We are anti-stupid-war, but not anti-self-defense. We would fight for our homes just like conservatives would. The only difference is we can tell the difference between a Mexican and a Middle Easterner: they aren't all just "Evil dark people" to us

They would Kow-Tow to the new power and then start whining about not being in power themselves. I think it would be similar to the French Government under Nazi rule.

what do you mean? i think most people wouldn't support the us cause they wouldn't want to get killed, but they wouldn't turn in their own people either. I tink if that were to happen, liberal and conservative wouldn't really matter anymore.
