Check how often you're taking Aspartame - it's a sweetener frequently found in diet, sugar free and normal soft drinks (perhaps other places too).

There is much controversy surrounding it's licencing in the UK and it is banned in the USA.

I wish. I've had severe migraines for years now and have tried every medication and nothing has worked. I saw a dentist as I read somewhere that gnashing teeth in your sleep can be a cause. I got my eyes tested including a test for colours as some eye problems including a sensitivity to light can make them worse. Like you I eliminated all the foods you mentioned plus orange juice and cola and nothing helped. I've tried pillows with neck support but this didn't help either. As well as the things I've mentioned I also know that they get worse with sunlight, stress, hunger, monthly cycle (if you're female) and too little or too much sleep.I've even lost jobs because of them. If you do find a cure please post it on this sight as it would be a miracle.

Dr. Migraine here: There are lifestyle changes to reduce stess that you can make - you have to figure out what they are, what situations trigger migraine for you ?
Some techniques for aborting a migraine : Hot compress on your head, and lay down as soon as you can with your feet up against the wall...90 degrees or so...By getting blood to your head, you will abort the constriction phase of the migraine....
then there wont be any headache...but don't get up for about an hour....keep massaging your scalp & neck... and breathe deeply.....
if you get up too soon, you'll have to start all over....

There is a solution:

Go for a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax. The effect on the self-healing power of your body is simply amazing - own experience. :-)

And it's really worth travelling far - at present, the treatment is available in California and Europe only, costing around 200 Dollars. Good luck!

i heard that there was research being done into the fact that some very severe cases of migraine were linked to there being a small hole in the heart, i dont want to worry you or scare you but you might want to do more research on this, and maybe speak with ure doctor,...hope they get better for you.

Not sure what you have tried or the specifics about your problem, but trying a low-dose SSRI may help, depending on the cause of your migraines.

go to the doctor and get prescription medication. It wont completely get rid of them but when they come and you take the medicine they will subside shortly.
