Honestly, what's the point of makeup?

To me, it just makes a girl look fake and superficial. I don't wear makeup because I don't believe I need to. What is your opinion on this subject?

It's not that I NEVER wear makeup. I wore some eye shadow and lip gloss to my aunt's wedding, and I got pretty dressed up for my friends Bat Mitzvah. It's more that I cannot cannot cannot see applying it EVERY MORNING and taking it off EVERY NIGHT like some people.

I think it just makes us feel better about ourselves. We don't really need to wear it. And if you don't wear too much it won't make you look fake. And if you don't beleave you need to wear it you don't. Cuz if you think you look good, other people will think you look good too.

Make up doesn't make a person look fake, unless they apply too much. Just because you don't wear it doesn't make it bad for someone else. Some of you people shoud really keep your opinions to yourself because you sound rediculous. Some people have problems with there skin and might need it to hinds imperfections, nothing wrong with that. Some people like to be different and inhance there natural beauty. Bring out certain areas, or there best features. That's life and there's nothing wrong with that. Make up is cool and their's nothing superficial about it. If you have perfect skin and don't need it then great, but everybody isn't that lucky. And to you Nadiya V maybe you're just ugly. Get a life

Some makeup's enhance your beauty, lets say eyeliner. Brings out the eyes. When people over do it, it looks really fake but keeping it light and natural goes a long way. Anyways, someone who wears alot of it said "It makes the world a more beautiful place". PFFT BS. Anyways, it does have bad effects on the skin that will show up later in life. I think wearing no makeup is much healthier and more natural so you are doing great!

Well, to some people, makeup is just a part of life.. it's point is basically not to look fake, but to enhance a girl's (or women's) features. Me personally, I don't wear makeup, except when I have a huge zit! Or I guess for big parties and all.. but not just for school or something like that.. I think it's still to much of a hassle.

Well I do sort of agree with you 'cause I don't wear make up either... But if someone does not naturally have great skin some make up may help cover it up and make it look better. For others a light make up help bring out some of their features. I like eyeshadows and lip gloss, try to use it when I go out... I am not much of a fan of cover up... Blush is cute as well every now and then.

But Nothing compares to a natural look.

makeup is fun! in fact, makeup is brilliant because you can change your look with it. you can go for a 16th century style with bright lips and bare eyes or you can go heavy on the eyes and tone down the lips. but i never go too heavy on both or i will look like a clown. just because someone wears makeup doesn't mean they're insecure or superficial. it's all part of being a girl and discovering our femininity.

im totally with you, i dont wear or own makeup, there is no point to it, like when you are two steppin with a guy he dont want makeup all over his shirt, that is one hell of a dry cleanin bill, i see no need for it and it does make ladies look fake as hell, anyway i will get off my soap box and by the way i dont think you need it either

I use makeup because I do have blotchy skin and I like my eyes to be smokey. It's funny that makeup was invented in the Roaring Twenties. If that was our image of beauty then, when everyone was drunk, how do we know that our image of beauty today is really justified?

I dont wear make up like at all but i would if i had the time too.. It can hide imperfectins on your face wear it ligktly and make it look natural

I hardly wear any either. Some people might really need it but then they aren't being their real selves. A guy should love a girl for how she looks naturally.
