I have a wasp nest that keeps growing in size. It's on the side of the house at the top of the awning, so it's not reachable unless you have a really tall ladder. Is there anything I can do?? I HATE wasps!! ewwwww!!!

OK...I'm definitely not going to use fire as it's attached to my house lol, and I heard that using the hose will make them attack you. I can't even reach it with a ladder...I'll try to find that spray that was talked about...still reading more answers...;)

I did this myself several times and it is VERY dicey! I am a big, tough, nothing I can't do kinda guy and I'm here to tell you ...BE CAREFUL!
that said, put on vynal raincoat type gear, that cover all legs and arms. Wear rubber boots if possible. rubber gloves if possible.
Put a heavy plastic type bag over your head ( I used a sweater storage bag) I know it sounds funky but it worked. Then put your wide brim hat on, just so you look cool to the mad wasps who are protecting their babies and want to sting you to death.
If you aren't afraid of the dark, then do this at night.
Get yourself some of that wasp spray that shoots a distance. If you can't get at it from the ground ...lean out a window and blast em' good. Get ready to run. They are pure evil when pissed and you don't want to get stung! Dope em' down with the poison spray, either knock down the nest when they are ALL doped down, or shoot it down with a hose. Put the mass of pulpy paper like nest thang in a bag and seal. Throw out! Don't let one get going like that again! Learn your lesson! I made the mistake, being an animal lover of letting one nest get about 2 feet across. OH, how cute! A special little wasp nest right here on my house! What a mistake. It was like WWIII. Thank God I had a sweater storage container over my face and head. They know to attack the eyes and nose areas and they are unstoppable. So be careful and be forwarned. This is dangerous!
Good news is that I didn't get stung and I won the war. But few things have scared me more. I went into the job, nieve!
On second thought, hire a pro!

Wasps do not live in there nests like bees they are just for there babies.
The best way would be at night they should not be in there then.
Knock down the nest and spray with that 25 foot wasp killer.
That stuff will bring them down in mid air.
They like to return to the same spot every year so you may have to hit it with the spray next year.

There is a chemical spray that "freezes" wasps in flight. You can get the spray at most Home improvement stores or hardware stores. Spray the nest and the flying wasps. When the "attack" has stopped, knock it down and get rid of it quickly. Good Luck

There is a product called Sure Shot Wasp and Hornet spray. One two second shot of this stuff kills the little buzzards INSTANTLY and completely poisons their nest so that any other bees that come back to the nest die also. I use this stuff all the time because I have them all over my property!

Don't go near them. Wasps are very sneaky. You won't know it but they will bite you. Later you will suffer. Get a wasp spray which sends a jet long distance to soak the nest--then get out of the area.

water hose or wasp killer. The hose can knock down the nest. Toss it away from the house.

Wap killer from Lowe's or Home Depot is charged and can spray from the ground to the roof. Use it after dark.

If you are going to do this by yourself or someone else who does not have professional knowledge, make sure you do it when its good and DARK. They are all in the nest at that time. Go to a garden supply store for some powerful spray to shoot in and kill them all. In the day time, they will kill you. The only ones home are the queen and the meanest ones protecting her. Good luck.

Get some long reach wasp spray, but the key is to do very early morning or late at night when it is dark.
so they will not chase you.

Burn it with fire, spray poison chemicals (pesticide) to it, or call an exterminator to do the job for you.

It is quite dangerous to handle wasp without protections.

Yes, eww!
