I've had my tongue pierced twice. The first time you do it, it doesnt hurt that bad. However, if you have it done a seconde time it hurts pretty bad because of the scar tissue. But DON'T PIERCE IT YOURSELF!! Have it professionally done because you have many nerves in your tongue and you could paralyze yourself if you hit the wrong nerve. Don't listen to the people who say that you cant eat and it swells. It does swell but not that much and you can eat anything you want except for spaghetti or noodle.

You are your own individual -but I must warn you that you can not eat solid foods for a few weeks as your tongue swells up so much that it is very difficult to eat - good if you want to lose weight. I would certainly do some research into it first.

I had mine done it hurts more afterwards so if you're going to get it done make sure you've got a couple of days off work and suck lots of ice for the first 2 days and stay away from spicey food (you might just have to have soup the first day). After that you should be fine.

Oh yeah, it hurts!
When i had mine done eating was a little difficult for the first couple of days and the next morning after the piercing took place i woke up with a big ball of blood in my mouth!
Hmmm, nice!

Yeah it does hurt, but only for a few seconds. But then for about a week your tounge sweels up and its very hard to eat and is very sore. I had to live on soup lol. Its defenetly worth it tho, im so glad I had mine done

Yes it def hurts. Think of how painful it is when you bite your tongue! I had it and its one of those things I wish I had skipped! A few years later and I took mine out.
Also -- ditto on the dental problems. I vote you skip it.

dont do it !!
ure toungue wil get infected and go all black and green puss will come out of it, then it will swell to 5 times its normal size, by then theres nothing which can be done other than to amputate the tongue, then you will die,....

yeah, it hurts like crap. it's hard to maintain too, and you'll have a lisp for about 2 weeks. forget about kissing or eating regular stuff for quite a while. still want it?
my advice, just stick with ears.

I dont know personally but my friend did hers herself and she said it hurted for a few secs about after that it was ok. But dont do yourself!
