Some clubs are restricted to men, like Elks. If there are singles in the group that is OK but we want to associate mainly with other couples.

If you are new in town, contact the Newcomers and ask them for recommendations. Contact the local Chamber of Commerce for ideas. Read the local paper. Ask your neighbors. Take a cooking or wine class. Volunteer together.

Actually, the Elks are open to both. It's only the ceremonies that are closed to all but men. All the other activities are very family oriented.

Maybe you can find something by going through the yellow pages, clubs, dancing, social. Try some headings like that, see what you find.
