No. Whether the car has a manual or an automatic transmission, the car still shifts gears. Change your joke to "continuously variable transmission (CVT)" and then the answer could be yes, since this style of transmission never shifts.

My question is why limit it to illegitimate conceptions? Some of the most shiftless people I've known were allegedly conceived by a married couple, sometimes even married to each other, and sometimes both parents were even human!
