We currently live in Kennesaw, GA (outside of Atlanta) and housing just seems way too expensive here. We'd like to move somewhere new where it's more reasonable but we won't have difficulty finding new jobs.

its not as expensive as u think! i live in a nice little town with a population of 15,000 people in California! i brand new house with four bedrooms costs about $600,000! but we do have a really nice landscape and the perfect weather! so u see u dont have it that bad!
so if u want some place inexpensive then dont move to California! I'd say u should move to Texas! i heard houses are cheap there!

I don't know what y'all do for a living, but have you considered Austin or Baltimore? Both are still relatively cheap and have strong job markets right now. A lot of it depends what you do for a living. You may want to add some detail to your post.
