ok, this is going to sound juvenile and odd, but it's not.
it's actually really hard and fun but real crafty, so i learned.
how to make pop-up books or just learning how to make something as a "pop-up" is really the first step. google it or something and download the directions to the pop up you like...it's frustrating but in that good way where you want to see it finished because it's hard.
i love it.

Some really fun crafts are:
Building a bridge across the Bering Straits.
Using Leggos to construct a staircase to the moon.
Performing an appendectomy on the neighbor's cat.
Painting a white line down the middle of the busiest street in your city.
Repairing Humpty-Dumpty.
Good luck, and have a great time.

Make something simple out of something of your passion. Even though its not really my passion, i still like cars alot, mainly(well pretty much only) import tuners. so 1 day i thought of something i could make using something from an import tuner or import tuner themed. I decided to make a fan pull out of a shift knob, it came out great, only cost me $10 and i love it, just think about whatever you like and find a way to work that into common things.
