In the early morning shut all the windows and drapes. For any windows that get direct sun, put another curtain, blanket, foil, or something over the entire window. Keep the doors and windows shut until the air temperature is cooler outside then it is inside. Then open everything up until the weather is the coolest possible (early morning). Then repeat.

Plant large trees around the house where the sun will hit the house the most in the early morning and late afternoon during the summer. During winter the leaves will not be on the trees and will allow the winter sun on the house all day long. This is the most cost effective way to keep a house cool during summer heat but takes a few years for the trees to be big enough to do the job. Good Luck!

Do you have cieling fans? If so make sure they are pullng the air up to the cieling this will pull the air thru your house, open windows on both sides this will allow to circulate properly use fans to pull the air in and out the other side it is the breeze that will cure the problem put your fan pointing out the window that no breeze is coming in this will create and exhauting effect and should cool it down but remember you wont get it much cooler then the outside temp.....

The best way to cool down a house are several ways all combined.
For one, you need to have all of your windows covered with dark shades...blankets work well too if you can get away with it.
Then if you have fans, get towels and wet them down with cold water and wring them out as to not have any water dripping off of them and drape them across the back of your fan...that way the air that is being blown is cooler.
Keep all of your windows and doors closed as much as possible.
Thats the best way to keep it cool.
If you have a swamp cooler get a 7 pound block of ice and place it in the water tray of the swamp cooler and turn that puppy on.
Try to minimize any use of the oven.
Keeping the ground cool around your house will also help...water your lawn.
I hope that all of this works for you...I know that it works for us.

bro, i have the same problem!! this is the solution i have to make the house from 101 to 75. turn on all fans, and place one in each room. place black or navy blue blankets(sheets don't work, they are to thin) on every window. DO NOT OPEN WINDOWS!! keep as many lights off as you can. try not to move as much and don't over eat. (eating too much produces more body heat!!) every hour, open the freezer for 1 minute. ( ok, one thing to keep YOU cool LOL)
try this it should work:)

If you don't want to buy anything, you can put a tray of ice in front of a fan and let the fan blow over the ice. That's how it was done in the old days on the farm. Good Luck
