First you must learn to call them, like for any other creature you wish to capture. the proper calling technique is simple to learn. you must go outside and like you were calling a cat go "HERE FISHY MISSY, HEEEER FIIISSHHYYY MIISSSYYY, HERE FISHY MISSY until one shows up or your relatives have you committed.

edit: sorry about making fun of your question. (about 2 hrs ago)

OK there must be some kind of water around, a river, a lake, even a small secluded pool will do (best if it is in an opening in the woods) where a mermaid might have gotten stranded. A concrete swimming pool is obviously not going to work. After you have discovered a suitable place for a poor lost stranded sad and lonely little mermaid. How you capture, save, smuggle back to the sea to release into the wild is all up to you. This could make an interesting book, depending on its treatment. It could be done as a romance, an adventure, a child's fairy tale. Imagination, that is Your creation.

I came back to check on the other answers to see if anybody had written anything interesting because I liked your question, bye for now.

Well I would say you can't. I heard a story when I was little about mermaids. That they were just manatees in the water with seaweed on them and the sailors thought they were mermaids and would try to save them. And drown trying to help them. Not a good story I know.

First you have to sail out on to the high seas for months until you go delusional with lust, and then eventually you will spot one hot merperson. Then you spear it, and bring it aboard to have your way with it only to realize afterward that you had been doing it with a dead manatee.

Isnt that a bit mean? Dont mermaids die out of water?

you can't. for a few reasons:

1. mermaids do not exist

2. even if they did exist, you obviously can't catch them when you are not near water.

and also, don't you mean where, not ware?

Build a giant fish tank and wait for a hurricane.

if they were alive (know one knows for sure weathere theyre really alive or not) then you dont want to catch them, this world would be so new for them, they would be so scared, its kinda like one of them kidnapping you and keeping you in the water, you would miss the ones you loved and youd be scared, so if u ever were to find one then just leave it alone....
