I really hope they'll try to preserve it and keep at least part of it in a musesum...if anyone knows the plans let me know :)

The company that owns it has yet to decide the shovel's fate. He says, "We certainly are aware of the interest of the community."

The shovel is currently busy with a mining project, but when that is over in the winter, they will be retiring it. I would check for news artciles about it again starting in October or you could contact Consolidated Coal.

It was 40 years old, quite impressive!
