I am 13 and in love with alll old rock bands. Like no one in my school has heard/ are not interested in them. Therefore i can't talk about my love (music) with anyone but my dad. Even my best friends hate my music. I can't stand it!!

Amelia you have very good taste in music in my opinion. I'm not knocking todays music but classic rock is great. You can't beat bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger ZZ Topp and so many more. I know younger people like yourself that prefer it too so keep on rocking! Listen to what you like and don't worry about what others think!

I have that problem too, except worse. Not only do I listen to lots of classic rock, I listen to jazz records as well. Except for a few bands (such as the White Stripes, Beck, and RHCP (but more so with their older stuff)) modern rock all sounds the same and gets aimed at all the airheads with the Abercrombie. I would make a crack about how they only got popular because their lead singers are hot and dance around, but after listening to my mom wax nostalgic about Mick Jagger, I'll just keep my mouth shut.

classic rock is between the most common genres with human beings contained in the genuine international, besides the undeniable fact that the labels don't like it because it is tougher to furnish than rap/hip hop/R&B because you want to pay extra interest to the lyrics and gadgets. that's the reason you aren't to any extent further getting a lot of it on the radio or released on CD, the labels that sponsor it choose less expensive ordinary to furnish sounds. FYI: wide FAN.

The fact you have taste sets you apart from others, and you should be proud of your choice, regardless of the style.

You are your own person, and pay no heed to others. I can't even imagine being your age and having to listen to the current g-a-r-b-a-g-e being spat out now.

Eventually, you'll meet someone with similar interests who may be close to your age, so don't despair; this way you'll know you'll have a better friend than other ones you may have. Glad you share this with your dad.

Im with you...todays rock music (with the exception of The White Stripes) is really bland and generic. Led Zeppelin Rocks, always have and always will !

Definitely. I'm older and it makes kore sense to still enjoy the oldies. I don't particular like the '80 heavy metal lyrics, but I do dig the sound. So i think most of the oldies lyrics are less negative than many newer rock songs.
