You need to figure out for yourself what you are looking for.
What city has the job opportunities in your chose field?
or
What city has the nightlife you're looking to get involved in?
or
What city has the educational opportunities you desire?
or
What city might have the life partner of your dreams in it?
You need to self-analyze before moving.
Probably NYC has it all.

Pittsburgh!!! It has four definite seaons of weather! A small town feel with some of the best schools in the country. It is the 4th most visited city in the country for art reasons.
Kennywood amusement park is a great summer destination spot for kids of all ages. In the winter you can spend your time indoors at the Carnegie museum of natural history (home to the largest collection of dinosaur bones in the world). The Pittsburgh Children's Museum or the Carnegie Science Center (250 hands on exhibits as well as the UPMC Sports works that teaches kids about physics through fun sports activities) The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG aquarium are open year round and are just outside of downtown as well!
The city itself has a very urban feel but once you get into the suburbs it is very "leave it to beaver" If you are interested in more rural areas those are around as well. To The North is Cranberry and to the south is Peters Township both are just outside of Allegheny county and have larger newer homes and MUCH lower property taxes. Both are no more than 25 minutes from the city.
There are 3 pro sports teams and several minor league teams so there is always a sporting event to attend.
The economy is based on education and healthcare. Banking and technology are also major fields in the area. Pittsburgh is home to 6 Fortune 500 compaines (i.e. Heinz, PNC Financial) and 9 additional fortune 1000 companies (i.e. American Eagle, GNC)
Little to no crime in the metropolitan area, minimal traffic, quiet suburbs, and a bustling downtown. What more could anyone ask for?

Believe it or not, I would say Gillette, Wyoming. It is in the middle of nowhere, but there are a lot of coal mines there. The place is booming right now, and the mines are willing to hire just about anybody to operate their haul trucks.
If you can tolerant the place for say two years, stash away your money, you could leave there with quite a bit a money in your pockets. Then you could go anywhere.

San Francisco, Kansas City and Lincoln, Nebraska.
They're always in the top 10 best places to live as far as air quality, crime and employment. Especially Frisco. Best city I've ever lived in.

If you enjoy a diverse music scene, check out Austin Texas. It is an hour from San Antonio, and 4 hours from the Gulf of Mexico!

Depends what your trade is...what your experience is.
But I would say try any big city - you learn more with the fast past life. Maybe New York, Chicago, Houston, San Diego.
Good Luck
