Wouldn't this give the teams in the AL West a far easier chance of reaching the playoffs versus the NL central. I am a little biased since I am an Astros fan but this is hardly fair We have six teams in our division while they only have four! WTFMLB?

It's impossible to evenly distribute 30 teams throughout the six divisions in MLB while making sure both the NL and AL have even number of teams.

Before 1998 (I think), Both AL and NL had five teams in the East and Central, and four in the West. But the expansion into Tampa Bay Devil Rays (AL) and Arizona Diamondbacks (NL) gave an odd number of teams in each league. Thus the Milwakee Brewers had to move from the AL Central to the NL Central. The Detroit Tigers moved from the AL East into the AL Central so the Devil Rays can come into the AL East.

I think, from a geographical standpoint, it would make sense to move the Astros to the AL West. But then again, tradition and the even number rule are prohibiting this move.

Because Kansas City didn't want to go to the AL West and be the doormat there, so they decided to be the daily whipping posts for the AL Central and Milwaukee moved to the NL Central

I felt the same way about the NFL, for years. That league went through a major regrouping, and all but a few teams are grouped by region.

With any luck, the President will serve out his term, and take over MLB. He's due for a promotion.

its because if every division had 5 teams then there would be an odd # of teams in each league and then a team wouldnt be able to play in each league

if there are 16 and 14 like there are now then they wont have the problem of teams being screwed out of games

This argument has been going on for years. I doubt it will be solved here.

At least the ATLANTA Braves aren't in the NL WEST anymore!

the idiot owners and their puppet commissioner realigned to try to keep teams in the same geographic area. it is easier for some teams.
