I turned 13 in December, and all we did to celebrate was a cake. I did my brother's chores, also. I don't feel like a teenager... I've been allowed to wear makeup and shave my legs since I was 11, so that's nothing new.. I just still feel 12. And that's like 8 months ago! We just moved in to a new town, and I haven't been out of the house unless it was to swim in our backyard or go to the store with my dad.

Sounds like you have the same problem I had. I didn't like being a kid. I like being 32 way better than I liked 13 or any of my teenage years. You can't really do anything about it, so don't waste time wishing it away. Boredom and restlessness are all a part of being young. Enjoy running out of things to do, because eventually you'll have too much to do.

You will feel much better once school starts. It's got to be both scary and fun starting a new school year in a new town.

I spend lots of time alone, too, and my e-friends really keep me from going crazy sometimes.

What about getting out an meeting some new people? Does your town have a teen center or some place like that where you can meet some new friends? How about going to a new Church in your town? Most of the kids around here go to church on Wednesday nights because most of them have fun stuff going on for kids. You don't have to know anyone. Just show up and ask someone to point you in the right direction for your age group.

You've had a big change if you've recently moved. That can easily cause you to fall into a depression. I know things will get better for you as soon as school starts. After all, you'll be the new girl and have all of the attention from the guys! Have fun!

Well I am 14 years old and I have been through that stage too. You already wear makeup, you shave so that's a start but don't be in a hurry to grow up. You might want to improve your wardrobe or change some ways or hobbies.. Any little thing will make a difference.

A birthday is just another day. No need to go wild over it.

Is your new town unsafe? Why not go on a walk. If you have a bike, go explore your neighborhood. Get a bus schedule and go explore the local mall. Check out your new school.

You don't suddenly get treated as a teenager. You need to show you are mature and no longer a little kid.

Sounds like you feel like a 13 year old to me. Maybe start walking around the neighbourhood, make some new friends, get out there!

There is no magical thing that happens to make you feel your age...trust me...I am WAAAAYYYY older than you, and still there are days I don't feel my age. Just go with the flow...I mean, take it easy, have fun and realize that you are only 13 ONCE!

If you skip childhood you will bitterly regret it in later life. You do not want an adult filled with regrets. Get on and enjoy your childhood.
