I play guitar, and I want to find band mates to start a garage band. I live in a small town, not too far from the city though. All my friends are pretty much musicaly challenged, no offense to them of coarse but whats the best way of letting other people know?

Putting the word out,and practice, practice, practice! Hang out in the music room, check out any school-organized bands or groups to see what you can be dealing with. Show up to rehearsals! And do all the stuff posted here on top of that.

print out some flyer's stating your cause and make sure you put those little tear off phone numbers so people can peel them off and call you. Then put them up at local music stores and places where musicians hang out.

find a garage, post a message at your school bulletin board or whatever and wait for replies.
