I am interested in getting a job with the USPS(Maybe a mail carrier or working in the post office). Does anyone know what kind money these jobs pay?

City Letter Carriers start at about 40k.
Rural route salaries are determined by bid.
Clerk jobs pay close to 40k.

Carrier jobs are relatively easy to get, just get a card at the PO and pass the test. Keeping the job is an entirely different story. During the first 90 days you can be fired for any reason. Its very tough work (dogs, weather, etc.) The quit/fire rate is somewhere in the area of 75-90%. Clerk jobs are becoming very scarce because of automation.

The money is fairly good but it is really difficult to get a full time position, as a rural carrier they start you at 16.45 per hour and you are only guaranteed one day a week, but it is a foot in the door and you can stick with it, it's a good oppurtunity.
