Someone wanted to know how to neuter their dog at home and another person told them to put a rubber band around the dog's testicles. I would like to report them both for cruelty to animals but yahoo doesn't work that way. I get sick thinking about some poor animal being treated this way. Reporting them for violation won't help the dog any, so, I guess I should just ignore it. Any advice?

I am against neutering being done without a vet for all the people that asked or defended it. My father raised livestock and he had a vet take care of the calves. I can't believe that some people are so cheap that they won't hire proper help for their animals. Those kind of people shouldn't have any animals and maybe a rubberband should be placed around your testicles or brains to see how you like it.

You think it helps to censor it?
People straight up cage-grow animals, just like dogs, to eat them-- because when you cook the fatty flesh just right.. it tastes good. Some of the best 'meat' are young creatures fed on beer in small boxes to keep the fat content high. And others are electrocuted, or variously terrified/tortured, before they are slaughtered to get the blood pumping in the creature.

Is putting rubberband around testicles mean? Yep. But hell if there aren't concentration camps of veritable nastiness just a bucolic step away from the supermarket.

On top of THAT-- I asked if it's morally right to euthanize someone who wants to die, but are forbidden to do so themselves. And the question was removed-- but there was plenty to learn from such questioning. Even if it is the most heinous racist, reactionary, false kind of question, it poses a challenge and it's in your right to meet it with persuasion. And if you can't then you better find out the how's and why's.

I grew up on a farm, and that's basically how we neutered male calves. There's this device, kinda like pliers with prongs on it. You put a rubber ring on it, open it up so that the ring is stretched out, and then you place the ring around the testicles, and remove the tool. The ring would restrict the blood flow to the testicles and they would wither and fall off, and the bulls would become steers.

Go ask your daddy. I'll bet he'll tell you this is exactly how HE, not the vet, neuters his cattle.

If you eat beef, chances are it came from cattle that have had this done to it. Beef from steers is a lot better than the beef from bulls.

Enjoy your hamburger.

It sounds horrible, but a reality check is due. First farmers have been using that method since rubber bands were invented. That method is still used in many parts of the world today as normal procedure. The circulation is cut off and the testicles slowly "die". Eventually they just fall off. There is minimal pain involved (and before the nay-sayers attack, no I wouldn't want it done to me) there was a dog in the compound I lived in for a while in Thailand that had that. He was just as playful and happy as ever even while the process was happening. I do not condone this action, mainly due to health risks involved. Any surgery should be done by a competent veterinarian.

I think that a lot of this Yahoo Answers is very tongue in cheek, and much of it is all for laughs. People are trying to earn points, so they ask ridiculous questions or give ridiculous answers. Many people just want to give outlandish answers to be funny or to amuse themselves. I seriously doubt the asker would try to neuter his dog at home. The only person I can see trying to do that is some backwoods hillbilly without internet access.

What's the difference between neutering a dog and a calf? That's exactly how I neuter our stock, and if the vet isn't available and the dog needs to be fixed, well, there's a home remedy. Are you against neutering as a whole, or just that it be done at home?

While it may seem strange, tying off the testicles with a rubber band will help in the castration. I find myself wanting to report people who are trolling for xxx pictures or asking for responses from a particular (very young) age group. There are also people who feel compelled to talk about their genetalia at great length. (no pun intended) These people should not be encouraged.

I agree this is abuse.
You could try reporting it, but I don't think that Yahoo can do anything about it.

I studied Indian cultures in the Southwest, and believe it or not, when we were on the reservations, this is a common practice for them to neuter their male dogs.
It goes on much more often than you's think !

Hi there, if there is anything on yahoo that you find offensive then report it. I haven't seen that question or I might have. There is one that I have just seen and is against the law never mind offensive and I have reported it. If we all take a stand against these idiots then they will no longer be able to use these pages for their sick pleasures.. I urge you all do it it.. it is completely confidential.

Although that is cruel and just plain sick, it would be very hard to prosecute. My suggestion we be to get with the local animal control in your area and ask them what they would do. More than likely unfortunately they probably do not have the means to track down this sick person and would blow you off. I admire your drive and wish there was more that could be done.
