I don't know why but I loved him when he was with the Red Sox but now I think it is just ok.I'm not even a Red Sox fan so I don't know whats up with that.

First of all its Arroyo and yes he did come from the Boston Red Sox for Willy Mo Pena...The trade was made during spring training this year. The trade was done most likely because do to the aquisition of Josh Beckett earlier in the off season, The organisation thought that they would be set in the starting rotation so they wanted a cheap guy like Willy Mo to help the bats of the Boston Red Sox

The red sox traded arroyo to get a replacement for next year for either nixon or manny in the outfield. At the time, they had seven starting pitchers. Arroyo's record had he stayed with the sox would not be close to what it is with the reds. The national league lacks the hitters that the AL does. If he were still with boston, he would be a .500 pitcher, although I am sure the sox would take that at this point.
