small bags (25Kg) you need 40 to make the ton, at £1.30 to £2.50 per bag this is the expensive way (but sometimes the most convenient (for example, if you need to take it through the house to get to the garden).
Travis Perkins or similar would normally delivery a one ton bag for £35-£40 or loose is usually a bit cheaper (say £25-£30).
1 cubic metre is more than a ton, 1 ton = approx. 0.6 cubic metres.

I'm not sure weather you mean weight or money but in money terms you are looking around £15-£35 mark depending on if you want it tipped or in a dumpy bag, and in weight it is about a cubic yard or 15 to 20 barrow loads depending on size of wheel barrow.

what I think you want to know is -
it is A LOT of sand to move with a shovel and wheelbarrow. Try to get the supplier to put it exactly where you want it, not 100 yards away!

It depends upon whether the sand is wet or dry but a ball-park figure would be one cubic yard.
