maybe it's a silly and easy question, but someone can tell me please what is this so called "third party" thing is for ? for example what kind of program is a "3rd party program" ?

A third-party program is a program that is operated and provided by another site or company rather than the one you are visiting. For example, if you see a "third-party program" on 123.com, the program is actually provided by 456.com.

LOL Third party can be used for anything. Let's say that I'm providing you with a service. I'm party number 1 and you're party number 2. Now I deal with a third party, which does something for me, in order for me to provide you with that service.

In terms of software, a Third Party plugin or code is provided by a company independant of the current company you're dealing with. For example, say you're using MSN. Microsoft will say that MSN can support third party plugins. Thus, microsoft didn't design those plugins, but other companies have designed them to work with MSN.
