People rarely define their true ideal of success. Some people think it is money, but in the end they're wrong. Success is having solid loving relationships with others.

By any reasonable measure, I'm rich.
I employ 70 people. I work every day. Not 5 days a week - every single day. No holidays off, no vacations. Even if I do manage to get out of town for a few days, I'm still working. I, like every other business owner, have a responsibilty to my employees to keep my businesses successful and growing. Do I benefit from this? Yes. But so do my employees, and so do you - in as these businesses generate tax revenues.
Hard work creates "luck". Do I live in a nice house? Yes. Do I drive a nice car? Yes. And I've earned every penny.

I'm sure that there's no one yes-or-no answer to this, depends on the person. I'd guess that some rich people do compare themselves to others. I'm sure that at least some, probably most, are just glad to have what they have, which they've most likely worked hard for unless they just inherited it, and don't worry about what others have.

I don't think any rich people will answer this. Those I would regard as rich don't think of themselves that way. It's a real struggle to find enough money to keep up the big house, the holiday home, the private schools, uni fees etc etc.

I'm not exactly rich but I think everyone thinks in the realm of "comparative".How do you really "know" anything if you are not comparative?
