Do you think we should go ahead and trust the government to look out for a best interests and handing our privately owned guns over to them for our own safety?....as they would lead us to believe they can protect us as individuals.

Definately not. The government was essentially based on the distrust of it. Hence all the checks and balances as well as the second amendment. Read the second amendment VERY closely. It wasn't so much to protect us against other countries as it was to protect us from our own. In addition to this it wouldn't be a full disarmament to begin with. It would only disarm the people who choose to follow the law therefore leaving the law abiding citizens vulnerable.

People think disarmament is the answer; but look at Switzerland. Since every adult maleis essentially a part of the military there each male is rtequired to carry a military issued pistol at least. It's one of the safest countries in the world. Case in point.

NO! NO! NO! THATS NOT EVEN AN OPTION ARE YOU CRAZY? GET REAL They can not protect us in that way because the bad people that want guns will have them anyway. Then that leaves us honest upstanding citizens very unprotected. The thought of uncertainty for the criminal is the most protection we will ever have.Does he or doesn't he have a gun. Will he or will he not use it.

what if america gets disarmed? Another state will raise. An other idiot leader will perceive world peace with guns. The problem is somewhere else.

Would it be fair to disarm them and not everyone else. The world needs to put trust in nations or peace will never be reached.

nope. i dont think it'll help our safety much.... might cut down on americans killing each other.... but we'd be royally screwed if the wolves that are being kept at bay got in over here..... look at 9/11... our government wasnt able to protect us there... what would they do if we got bombarded with armies from other countries? at some point we would have to defend ourselves....
and if americans still wanted to kill americans, they would just find other means to do it, so i think i'll keep my gun thank you very much!

Well, if the US disarms what protection would we have from invaders?

Plus, just because weapons are made illegal does not mean there won't be some sold illegally.

NO. WAY.

The Second Amendment was put there for a reason--to protect the citizenry against tyranny.
