If I have to choose-I'd say capitalism. Laws are changed, and votes cast in this country for the sake of capitalism. Example--Republicans are for big business, so they change laws like giving the largest & most powerful corporations the majority of the tax cuts so they'll get their vote (and their donations) They also like to cut aid to programs like Veteran benefits, Welfare, Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security. They claim these policies don't work, whether they do or not. Democrats, on the other side, like to make all persons pay the same amount of taxes, the rich as well as the poor. They are into assistance of minorities (and the middle-class), and hope that they get their votes. Both parties have become corrupt in their own right. Putting the almighty buck (and vote) ahead of the interest of the American people. If they were to follow the polls, they would find out exactly what Americans want and expect in their leaders, the right to have a voice in our laws, our taxes and how our tax money is spent. Isn't that why we vote these people into office?Instead we complain about it here, on Yahoo Q & A. I'll vote, will you? Will everyone, please?

Neither.
Corruption comes from power. The more power, the more corrupt. That's why there's always relatively more corruption in dictatorships.

No system is completely free of corruption. At least with democracy and capitalism, it the corruption is diffused and there are at least a few checks and balances.
