When I was younger, I expected gifts, but as you get older, it doesn't matter as much. Saying Happy Birthday, would be good enough, because it lets me know, that you remembered the day, I came into this crazy world.

I don't expect material gifts, gestures or even a dinner at home would win me over! One time my boyfriend got me a card and roses, and some of my favorite chocolates, and hid them in the bed!! Chocolates under the pillow, card on top and roses under the blanket all spread out on my side!!
It cost him maybe $20 for it all but the love he put into was priceless!! Those are the kind of presents I like...
He doesn't do it a lot anymore though..............

Yes, my birthday is the only day of the year I get to act like a spoiled brat and get my way so I expect presents.

Yes, but i dont expect them to be expensive, i would be happy if i got a nice card and a candle or a homemade picture frame from my kids. anything to say we are thinking of you and you are special to me..
