I enjoy telemarketing calls. I have many ways of scaring or confusing them. Here are some...
If the telemarketer says "May I please speak to the person in charge of the phone bill?", I say, "I'm sorry, we don't have a phone." If they want the homeowner, I explain that we don't live in a house, but a cardboard box in an alleyway. If they start talking and won't stop, I press a button on the phone for as long as I can, so it beeps really loudly in their ear. Once, earlier this year, I pretended I spoke another language, when really I was just talking in pig latin.
Telemarketing calls are one of the many joys in my life.

I tell them just a moment, and go grab my 6 year old. I tell her she has a whole minute to tell "Uncle Louie" all about how her little brother peed in the minivan during our vacation. She talks a mile a minute, and you can't get a word in edgewise, especially when she does her little hyenna laugh.
Some how, being talked to about toddler's accidental family wetting in warp speed by a 6 year old seems to make telemarketers hang up.
Oh well. I'll find a new approach when my 4 year old starts asking to talk to Uncle Louie. LOL

I use a nickname so when they ask for me by my full name I say she's unavailable and can I take a message. The other possibility is to say No thank you and hang up. I wouldn't let them get under my skin enough to yell at them. They are just doing their job but doesn't it suck when it's right at dinner time? Irritating.. and makes it least likely for them to get a sale.

I answer the phone and say "Hello" but most of them can't speak English so I just hang up or sometimes I just won't say anything and I just listen to them say "Hello, Hello" I think it's fun :)

Act like a moron, keep asking them to repeat themselves, what does that mean, hold on and justput the phone down, holler at people in the room, that aren`t there, ask them to talk dirty to me,
when all else fails, blow a whistle into the phone.

My Grandpa: he justs says Oh wait Let me get him/her and then he just leys the phone down/. In 5 minutes he will come back and no one will be there.
My Mom: She says Oh I'm sorry you must have the wrong number this is Joe's Pool Hall.
My Dad: He just talks and then says No thanks you I'm not really interested.
My Brothers(both): They just ask who it is and then get a candy wrapper and crinkle it near the phone and say WE MUST BE BREAKING UP!! then hangs up......
Me: I choose between them all! ha!
