How long do you have to have the earring in after your ear is pierced to keep the hole from closing up, and could you remove it for a short period of time (suppose 3 days) without the hole closing up if you have recently gotten an ear piercing?

You're supposed to leave it in for 6 weeks, cleaning and turning it at least 2 times a day. Then you can change your earrings all you want, and leave them out for a while. If you only left it in for 1 week and then took it out for 3 days, it would close. But remember this too..Your starter earring (the earring that's used when you get your ear pierced) has a larger post than regular earrings. So when the hole heals, it will be slightly bigger. If you take it out early and switch earrings, then your hole will heal around the smaller post, then making the hole smaller. So you should leave it in for 6 weeks.
-Hope this helped!

As far as I know, you should keep the earrings in for at least 6 weeks. When the holes are new, they are more likely to start growing together more quickly. After the first 6 weeks, then you should wear a post type earring for at least 6 months.

You should leave the earrings in for 6 weeks. Clean them everyday with the cleaner you was given. and turn the earrings three times a day so skin does not attach to the earring

I left mine in for 2 weeks and when I took it out, it closed up, so I got mine re-pierced. I left them in for a few months and the hole stayed after that. I wouldn't take it out for at least a month... 3 days would close it up for sure.

Also, about after a year if you aren't wearing earrings frequently, they will begin to close, so be careful!

Everyone is different, though. Did you get a pamplet or kit after you got your ear pierced? If you did, there will most likely be something in the pamplet telling you when you can take it out.

When I got mine pierced I left them in for 6 weeks. And did not take them out. You probably should leave them in, use the solution, and turn the earrings.

I think it is a month until you can take it out. And if you take out your earrings too soon for 3 days, it will close up.
