A lot of people are suggesting geocities, but when I click on it says there is a monthly fee! Am I doing something wrong or have you guys just not been there in a while???

Yahoo has a service called Geocities that lets you build your own website.

With a Yahoo! account, you can sign up for Geocities: http://geocities.yahoo.com

You can also get space on other services, for example Google Accounts now supports pages. First you'll need a GMail account though: http://gmail.com

If you are interested in a journal type page then Blogger could work: http://www.blogger.com
