He promised to lower tariffs and to stay out of the war in Europe.
He was very conservative and was all about states rights.Taft did nothing to stop the fights between Conservatives and liberals
Roosevelt was progressive, and used executive power to achieve almost all his goals, people did not like it. Conservative Democrats won.
