Football and Baseball are the most popular; soccer in the US????? Not even on the radar screen....
Soccer is #1 in the world by far.....not popular in the USA

Most definately football. Soccer is like 8 or 9. Go to the mall and ask every person you see to name a person from football, baseball, basketball, hockey, golf, nascar, tennis and golf. Most people will be able to tell you a player from just about every one of those sports. Add soccer to that and I bet you get very few. Most probably couldn't even name a team or even know that there's a league in the US.

Are you talking about a sport that kids play or a sport that Americans watch on TV? Because if it is the latter, then soccer isn't even in the top 5. Now, if its the former--soccer could be up there. In the community where I live, everyone lives and breathes soccer--when the kids are young. Tough call there.

your husband needs to lay off the crack. football is #1 and NASCAR is #2, according to the TV ratings. soccer isn't even a blip on the radar screen

The NFL is the MOST POPULAR SPORT IN THE U.S. Soccer is proably the fastest growing, although with as small as the fan base was that really doesn't take much. Also parents going to their kids games doesn't really count to me as making it popular. They are going to see their kid and support their kid not to watch the game in general.

American Football has the greatest fan base. However NASCAR racing has the greatest number of actual on site fans for it's events and is closing fast on T.V. viewers as well
