hahaha guilty here. But I must say the only reason why I have done that is because the men weren't being honest and this is a technique to catch them in a lie.

I don't necessarily think it's most either, and I know some men who are also this way. Confrontation is not the same thing as asking questions to pick a fight. Myself, if someone wrongs me in some way, i am probably going to call them out on it, even if it's only to make sure that they don't do it again. Picking a fight intentionally isn't my style at all, though.

saying "most" is a generalization however i think women do this b/c they THINK they are coming off as intelligent. when challenging a question or opinion they believe that they are coming across as intuitive, smart, someone who thinks differently or outside of the box when really they just come off as confrontational as you say. this is not to say that some women really are just confrontational.....and those women i believe are like that b/c they think it makes them look strong or tough or perhaps they feel good about not looking weak or submissive in front of a man.

Probably because they weren't treated well in their last relationships. It's not really an excuse for being nasty, but that could be the explanation. I know I'm a lot more confrontational since I got divorced, and my new husband frequently tells me I'm bossy. I'm trying though...
