At the moment I am on an antibiotic to help with my acne. But I am tired of my period. I'm not very regular, they're long and i always have spotting. I thought about the pill to help with my period problem, but i know this antibiotic will make it useless.

I don't know which I should use, the birth control or the acne meds.

First of all, if you're taking long term antibiotics, it doesn't render the contraceptive pill useless, and if you only wanted to use it to control your periods and not for contaception, it wouldn't matter anyway.

So you could go on the pill and continue taking antibiotics, which would be fine. But there's a contraceptive pill called Dianette, or Diane in the States I think, which regulates your periods AND helps with acne. So it would be worth speaking to your doctor about that. Good luck.

certian types of BC do help a bit, but they mess with your system. and in the long run might not be good for you. Just ask your doc for some stronger cremes. YOu dont want to have long term effects cuz o fyour acne problem.

Get off the antibiotics and ask your obgyn about birth control to regulate your hormones. Of course this is not a free ticket to sex.
