I'm not asking if you think there ever WILL be one, but weather you think there SHOULD be.

Why do you think this way?

And if you answer "lollol becuz girlz r dum" well, consider yourself a good example of why there should be a woman in the white house. I would like intellegent answers, please.

I did not mean to imply that a woman should become president without merit, or that I would vote for any candidate just because she was a woman. What I ment to do was counter some posts I have seen that claim that a woman should never become president, ever, not matter what her merits. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Women are very intelligent in their politics. Yes, I think women would make good presidents. Women are forthright, straight thinkers and talkers. They know what the major population wants best for their country. They are perceptive, intuitive. They are strong willed, and above all, slow to anger. Women just like men have their advisers in which they would guide a president to do what is best for the country. Not one male president has acted on his own.........this is not what a president does. He confers with his ad-visors, with his military strategists, etc...then decides on what to do. Every male president has done the same. Women would be just as good as men as president.

I think that a woman could run the country just as effectively as a man, maybe better. Sadly, many women politicians have fallen into the "good old boy" trap and act the same way the men do. I will say this, I do NOT want Hillary to become president. I live in NYS, so it's not like I'm not aware of what's going on. I would vote for a qualified woman candidate.

Of course. Women are just as capable as men in managing groups of people, large institutions, running corporations, etc. There's no legitimate reason why a woman could or should not be president. There should be an equal opportunity for both. Women bring a whole different element into an environment which can be very positive. It's about time for a change. We would just have to vote in the best possible candidate. I'm ready. Go get em ladies.

Absolutely, there have been many women who have led their country without problem. In many ways women make much better leaders than men because we have to struggle that much harder to get to the top. Whereas less than mediocre men can be elected into office due to the old boy network and some testosterone laden macho posturing, a woman needs to be truly outstanding to rise above social prejudice.

History has given us many precedents (I am not saying that I agree with these women's politics, but they WERE doubtlessly strong women):
Golda Mayer
Indira Ghandi
Margaret Thatcher (Oh Lord forgive me for having mentioned the Anti-Christ)
Cory Acquino
Cleopatra
and last but not least Queen Boadecia

I cannot understand why there have been no viable women candidates to the presidency thus far. All you wonderful, talented women please stand up and be counted. (Hillary, sit back down you had your shot as puppet master for Bill)

I don't care who's president - it could be a white woman, an asian, a black man or woman, I don't care.

All I care about is their agenda and if they're cut out for the job. It also depends if they agree with me politically.

Presidents have to be decisive, do what they think is right even if it's against what most people want, strong leader mentally, a good public speaker, able to express his/her opinions, and not scared to go into a war.

I don't want to have Hilary as the president in 08 because I'm a Republican. Have a nice day!

I don't think there SHOULD be a woman president. Just like I don't think the precidency SHOULD be occupied (so far) by men. The word SHOULD indicates that a woman SHOULD be president without merit. Now, if a woman is capable of running this country and putting it back where it needs to be, then so be it. I would definitely vote for such woman.

I'll put it this way; I would be willing to vote for the second female candidate, but probably not the first. My worry is that a lot of people will vote for any member of a minority group (is it fair to say that women are a minority group even though there are more of them?) regardless of her personal politics, and thus it would seem wrong for me to encourage that.

Though what I think is a larger issue is that I have yet to see an American woman in politics who I would feel adequately qualified for the job

How sexist! A person's sex has nothing to do with quality of work.

I vote for whomever I think is the best candidate, regardless of gender.

There are people who are so keen to have *another* Clinton in the White House that they justify it by saying that she's better qualified just because she's a woman; what complete nonsense.

It's going to depend on the candidates. Should there be..yes if she's the best candidate. No if she's not. It's as simple as that. Trying to force a woman into office isn't going to get the job done right when it's just because she's a woman.

Of course...what a question! Women are in every way every bit as capable, intelligent, assertive, verbally adept, diplomatic, and strong as men are. I truly believe that a woman president would bring qualities to the job that men haven't so far. I believe the world would be a safer place with a woman president.
