Challenges: Increased violence, poor public education systems, the conflict between the need to spend time at work and time with the kids. Making sure they eat healthy. Encouraging them to spend more time reading and using their imagination and less time watching TV or playing video games.
Advantages: One of the best health-care systems in the world. Leave from work for new parents. Great public libraries. Good food, clean water. An extensive network of people (like the La Leche League) to encourage, advise, and help new parents.
