What is your evidence? This seems to be an opinion. You are saying that the police do absolutely nothing about murders?

I think what you're seeing is the beat cops--the police who cruise the streets looking for people committing crimes, petty or grand, to stop and question, and arrest if necessary.

The police who deal with murders are detectives. These are usually plain-clothes officers that you don't see on a day to day basis, and that you wouldn't recognize as being police if you saw them on the street, since they look like everybody else.

You are making some sweeping generalizations without anything to back it up. You could get to know how the organization of law enforcement works in Riverdale--which departments are responsible for which areas of law enforcement, and who is doing what to stop and solve crimes where.

In any event, it is a police officer's job to ticket and/or arrest someone for drinking in public or for selling a nickel bag. Why fault them for doing what they were hired to do? It's like faulting a McDonalds counter worker for not putting your fries on the tray, and saying that the counter worker should be working, instead, to secure sites in foreign countries to expand the franchise of McDonalds into international territory. The point is, there *are* cops working on all elements of criminal activity; you're just seeing the beat cops--and probably too much of them--since you and your pals are engaging in petty crimes and being held accountable for it.

If you want something to change, go to the police academy yourself. Or go to school and learn about criminal justice. Or sit down and talk to a cop about how things work in his or her district. Do *anything* except sitting around complaining about processes that you don't fully understand.
