Ok what would you say to your g/f if she acted like this? We are sitting here reading the newspaper and recently some people she knew/met got arrested for having more than 500 lbs of marijuana. They are also local business owners (restraunts/bars) She said she wished she was on their jury, and i said you wouldn't be able to get on the jury. And she said why not. And i told her because you ahve to go on stand and under oath they would ask you if you knew or ever met the defendants. And i said if she lied she would would be held under contempt of court. And then she goes OKKKKKKKKKK like she was getting annoyed. Did she have reason to be annoyed? What would you have said to her?

I would have told her the same thing, if she gets annoyed because you are telling the truth she needs her head examined.

I think you read too much into her comment. I think that she was just expressing that she did not feel they should have been arrested for possessing Marijuana.

You went to far when you took her through the entire jury process and explaining how she would not be able to get onto the jury.

I would have said the same thing...but, were you acting like a know it all or making a simple statement? It's all about the delivery, ya know?

Question for you is: Do you want to be with someone who has friends like that and a lack of moral standards (willing to lie in court; commit perjury)? I'm not a prude, but I do know that you can tell a lot about people by the company they keep.

Tell her if she didn't believe you to go for it. Let her find out. Because if she were to make it to the jury and the people recognized her, they could tell their attorney who would be required to inform the courts and gee, where would that put her?

I think you're paying this to much attention. I have whole days when i go "Okkkkkkkkk" at my b/f without any particular reason, especially when I'm on PMS...It may be a mood thing, don't read too much into it...

You gave her all the right reasons why she can't be on the jury. If she doesn't get it that's her problem.

Well, to me it sounds like she was just passing comment on the story, and you sort of made it into a learning lecture, and maybe you sounded condescending to her.

When I say "ookkkk", it usually means shut up. She probably just didn't want it to turn into a big conversation.

She's just upset that she didn't think of that. She probably felt like you were being condescending. Don't sweat it.
