Yes, its true! And just wait till you hit your 40's and you start to wonder if someone you always disagreed with when you were younger might actually be smart! Its scary! LOL

Not sure of the relevance of the second question, but no, I was never a "joiner".

I'm 37, so I can't figure it out. No I was not a member of a sorority. I was a member of the Peace Committee and hung out at the student newspaper all the time, which was kind of like a club. My ability to know everything with absolute certainty peaked out around age 21. I went through a major shift in beleifs at 23. As I get older I am learning more about life all the time, but abstractions are becoming too fuzzy wuzzy and complicated to deal with too much!

I'm in my mid-twenties. When I was a teenager I knew I didn't know it all, but I guess I just didn't really care. Then in my late teens early twenties I thought I knew a lot, but then found out that there was a lot to be learned. Still learning now.

I used to think that when people got older they became more responsible, but I just find that is not true. I sort of think now that being a responsible person has little to do with age, and more to do with personality and life experience. I know many adults who are extremely irresponsible though they are much older than I am. Conversely, I know many people in their 20s and 30s, and even some late teens who are very responsible.

Dear Zeke,

My approximate age is 30 (give or take a few months). I don't think this is necessarily true. The part which bothers me is the "near 30+ you have an open mind." I think that phrase needs clarification.

I strikes me that this saying is more correct in describing the ages of sixteen and mid-20s, but that nearing age 30+, one ought not only to be more aware of what one definitely knows, but more aware of what one does not definitely know. This, however, is not the same as having an "open mind," if by that phrase, one refers to acceptance of evil or error, or acceptance of viewpoints based in evil or error.

If however, by "open mind," one refers to a greater willingness to tolerate the error or evil in others, with the greater recognition of one's own inadequacies or one's own growth in humility, then I agree.
