No.....its just a story. Great movie though, isn't it? Don't forget to watch the sequel - Eddie II - Eddie Lives!

I believe it was some what based on Jim Morrison, and hopes that he faked it and would come back. There is an Eddie and the Cruisers 2,,,,,
