Ive done this many times. Just call up your service provider, and say you want to change your SIM card. Theyll ask you for the number and you should be all set. Nothing should be switched its very easy.

You DO NOT have to get a new number, the number is stored on that card. You just have to make sure that you buy Cingular Compatible phones. In that case you can switch the sim card to any phone you like. All your phone carriers information is on that card. But like I said, just make sure it is a cingular phone, because companies today are making it so you can't just slide a competitors card into THEIR phone. Now, if you know someone that works at a Cell Phone Store and they have the software or whatever to unlock another carriers phone for your card, then they can do that to. Cause if you stick a cingular sim card into a verizon phone, it'll ask you for a code, which you wan't have.

It should stay the same. if you stored the phone # in the SIM card, it will carry on in the SIM card from the previous phone.

the simcard is ur "ID NUMBER" thats what gives ur phone a number... you can replace it with two types of simcards... 1st, is a new simcard with a new number... 2nd, a new simcard with the same number... you can only get a new sim with the same number, If you lose your simcard and ask for a replacement from your telecom company.. so yea.. you'll only get it as a replacement.
