what measurments do I cut the starter courses when using dimensional shingles?

If you're talking about asphult shingles all you do is run the starter course backwards with the tabs facing up the roof and then you run a course the regular way right over it and then shingle normally from there up. Just make sure you don't overlap the seams between the
starter course and the course you put on over it.

the starter course, install upside down, all around the roof. but before doing that, from the rake of the roof, the sides( gable) measure over 30 inches and then 36 inches. at the top and th bottom and pop lines....... and from the bottom of the overhanges drip edge( bottom) measure up every 5 inches and pop lines.

let the starter shingle hangover the fascia 3/4 of and inch past the shingles drip edge.
