Shouldn't your question read "Is it..." rather than "It is..."? In any case, no it is not difficult to believe that. The aforementioned Journey of Man demonstrates this through DNA analysis. It is also logical from a mathmatical analysis: Consider that we all have 2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 great grandparents, etc. As you travel backward in time, you have exponentially increasing ancestors, but the population of humans is decreasing. It seems, then, that we all have to have a common ancestor.

Is it hard to believe that America now is almost entirely populated by the descendents of non-natives? I don't think it is. It is also not terribly difficult to imagine that after thousands of years, people could have traveled great distances and expanded their population, with great genetic variations along the way.
On a Biblical note, the Garden of Eden was somewhere in Asia Minor. That's pretty close to the eastern coast of Africa, so it also doesn't seem unusual historically speaking for people to believe that the world's entire population emanated from one small area in the same part of the world.

It didn't, that's what some people want you to believe. The human race came from Antarctica before it was frozen. The earth is really upside down and tilted due to being struck by a asteroid. It hit in the Gulf of Mexico.

No. There is a lot of evidence that our ancestors came from africa. There is a decent program called "Journey of Man" by PBS that shows how using DNA to track the migration out of Africa is being used.

not for me- its in the Bible. Eden was in northern central africa. now for some stupid people maybe because the idea that they ever may have been "black" or come from somewhere as "horrible and destitute" as Africa (god no not that!) scares them. That would mean that they are really racist and prejudiced against themselves and that they really ARE related to me (a black person). Some people's nightmare.

No it's not difficult to believe. I have read some on this theory. I hadn't however heard about the movie you and a couple other people mentioned. I'd really like to see it. Hopefully, I can rent it.
Thanks guys for the info.

dna from fossil skeletal remains was used to determine the "most probable" source as africa. since we're dealing with this type data things may change or things may stay the same.
