i saw it opening night and here's my opinion:
the film is very very unique. i stayed away from spoilers when reading about the film, but i gathered enough info to konw that it was more than a scary movie. if i had went into it hoping for a scary movie i would have been disappointed. its not without its jump-out- of-your-seat moments but most of the focus is on the characters. it is a story like i have never seen before. this is good and bad,.
the good thing is, its frsh and unique. by the end of the movie i was so engaged in what was going on that i was hardly bored.
the bad thing is how the story is explained. most of the story comes from these two women and it comes in small doses. instead of giving me a clear picture on what the strange creatures were and how their rules work, it was presented in a very confusing way.
but if you are patient, most if it will work out in the end. this is more of a family movie and it is lighthearted. at times things felt forced and a little over the top. but this is an M. Night Shyamalan film so what do you expect?
in conclusion its not my favorite shyamalan movie, but it is his most original and unique story yet. if you are looking for something different, then go see it.

I was going to see it until I found it that it's a children's story. I'd rather see stereotypical scary Shamalyan movies!

i have it was pretty screwed up, M. night usually makes good movies but this one had random tree monkeys feasing on wild wolves... i dont reccomend it
