There aren't too many ways to beat it. You must be honest, or you won't be hired.

With regard to criminal records, there is no national database, so if you lie about the counties and places you have lived, you may beat it, but most likely you will be caught in the lie through other means.

Get lucky. There are ways for very good companies to check you out. Such as jobs, did you give your SSN. They can find this through SSN. As far as criminal background checks, if you were ever fingerprinted, you prints and history are on a database with the FBI. If a cop pulls you over, they run a simple NCIC check for any history as well as wants and warrants. As far as convictions, they can only go back 7 years. 20 years ago, cant ask you. They can only ask you for convictions in those 7 years. They can not ask you if you had any arrests.

Very good interviewers can spot bogus answers from possible employees. Good companies also have companies now that take the time to do the leg work to check you out. Most companies handling finances in some form will also have you take a honesty test.

Dont beat it by lying. Get rid of it by either telling the truth or Seal the record in the county the conviction happened. Call the county courts in which the crime occured an see what your options are in sealing up the offense that had occured when you were a juvenile or an adult. Sometime a fee may apply but you will probably recoup this in your job the first year. Than you have the knowledge to help out others around you.

I'm thinking that trying to "beat" the system is what got you the bad background in the first place.

Life an honest life and you won't have to worry about the future. Making wise decisions is not a hard thing to do.

you can't beat it, but you can be honest. how old are your convictions & what are they, some employers might look past whatever you did if it was a long tim ago & not too awfully bad. just be honest.

Start today on working on a better "background" for future jobs.

I don't know, outright fraud? It's not like a drug test, where you can supposedly eat or drink something to clean your pee. Your background is what it is, so if you've given them your real name and SS#, they're going to find your actual history.
