I agree whole hearted Exorcist is the only movie that spooks me; i think it is the idea of possession.

The originals of the latter 3 movies were scary as,but got ridiculous from then on.
Since The Exorcist is based on a true story, I would choose it as well.

Children of the Corn 1 and all the Halloween movies. The ones with Michael Myers, not just general halloween movies.

"Robot Monster"(1953) featured a scary creature that wore a gorilla suit, and a deep sea diving mask. Goofy scary fun for all. Heck, "Plan Nine from Outer Space"(1959) was just stupid crap compared this oeuvre of really dreadful scary moviemaking.
Both films are in glorious black and white.

Hmmm...........I couldn't really say because none of them are really scary. Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elmstreet have the ability to startle you a bit but other than that they mostly suck. I couldn't really choose one.

There are a lot of good ones but the cell is really creepy and Cabin fever and House of wax those are just a few really good ones
